From that one life saved, we’ve grown into the UK’s largest horse welfare charity, now providing daily care for over 1,500 horses, ponies, donkeys and mules.
We have multiple farms and visitor centres across the UK, based in Norfolk, Essex, Warwickshire and Scotland, with over 400 staff working across all our sites. We are registered with the Charity Commission and have a Board of Trustees who oversee the organisation. Our work is entirely funded through the generosity of the public.

We believe that every horse, pony, donkey and mule has the right to a happy and healthy life, free of fear and neglect. In 2022 we were voted the Charity of the Year at the Equestrian Business Awards and placed 21st in the 100 Most Loved Charities report from Savanta.
When you join Redwings, you’ll become part of a supportive and friendly team where you’ll have the chance to grow your skills and live our values. Whether you are working in a hands-on role with our residents, maintaining our sites, looking after our visitors in one of our Visitor Centres or part of our HQ team, you’ll be making a real difference by helping us in our mission to provide and promote the care and protection of horses and donkeys.

Welfare is at the heart of everything we do: we are dedicated to improving the quality of life for all equines in the UK.
Leading the way through sharing our knowledge and influencing public opinion.
Being respectful and professional in our working relationships with each other, donors, the public and other welfare organisations.
Working together within and outside Redwings in the best interest of equines.
